Sucroject injection is a combination of Iron and sucrose. Iron is the inorganic form of compound which occurs as mineral magnetite. It is also known as hematite.

Sucroject Injection is a iron sucrose injection which is used for the replenishment of tissue iron store. After the administration of iron sucrose injection it is taken up by the reticuloendothelial system in liver, bone marrow and spleen. After this iron is used for the synthesis of haemoglobin, myoglobin and other iron containing enzymes.
Absorption
After administration iron follows first order kinetics and well absorbed into tissues
Distribution
Iron is mainly distributed through blood and even to the extracellular fluids. The apparent volume distribution is 7.9L.
Excretion
The elimination half life of the drug is 6hrs and total clearance of 1.2l/hr.
- Hypersensitivity to any of the ingredient.
- Regular administration can cause excess of iron
- Can cause hypotension
