Emedox tablets contains doxylamine succinate, pyridoxine hydrochloride and folic acid. Doxylamine succinate is a first generation antihistamine drug which are useful in the symptoms associated with hay fever, common cold and allergy. Pyridoxine hydrochloride is vitamin B6 which is used to prevent disorder associated with nerve and hereditary disorder. Folic acid is a soluble form of vitamin B. Folic acid is naturally found in food and the synthetic form of folate is folic acid. High levels of folic acid is found in leafy veggies, asparagus and okra and in fruits it is present in lemons, banana and melon.

Two tablets per day at he bed time.

Doxylamine succinate causes antihistaminic effects. Pyridoxine causes metabolism of carbohydrates, fats and proteins.

Absorption

After oral administration the drug is absorbed by the gastrointestinal tract mainly by jejunum.

Distribution

Pyridoxine is mainly bound to the protein mainly albumin. The drug is metabolized by the liver to its active metabolites 

Excretion

The drug is excreted through kidney

  • Hypersensitivity to any of the ingredient
  • Monoamine oxidase (MAO) inhibitors intensify and prolong the adverse central nervous system
  • The product causes somnolence
  • Avoid work which requires mental alertness
  • Avoid drug usage in pregnant women
